Who We Are
CarpetView began as a simple carpet shop in Cappadocia, Turkey called Le Bazaar d’Orient. It was founded in 1973 by Murat Guzelgoz. Since then we have grown into one of the finest carpet shops in the world.
We provide the most exquisite hand-knotted and hand-woven rugs of the highest quality. The business has expanded over the years and what was once a simple little carpet shop has grown to three levels of incredible carpet and rug selection. Our growth has also included expansion to the internet, where we can reach out to people all over the world.

Our focus is on quality and design and the rugs on CarpetView.com have been selected with great care. Each and every rug goes through three distinct levels of quality assurance checks, including:
- Multiple checks during the purchase of the rugs, including origin, symmetry, number of knots, shape, dyes, and the quality of colours under different light conditions.
- Checks during photography in order to ensure that online pictures accurately reflect the carpets’ original colours.
- Checks prior to shipping.

In our Antique Carpets & Textiles Museum, you can view our collection of handmade rugs from 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.
